Review on πŸš€ SPEEDWOW Universal Blue Oil Catch Can Tank with Micron Bronze Baffled Filter and Hose Kit: Enhance Engine Performance by Marlo Schlachter

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Cheaper than branded tin cans. but does the job

Installed on a 2018 Sonata Sport 2.0 T with 32,000 miles, The catch can is strong and looks well made, There are voids in the can when it is being painted. Appearance is impeccable. I had to drill additional holes on the included bracket so I could mount it on the car. Connection designations are incorrect. The PCV should go to OUT and the brass side of the filter (IN) to the intake manifold. I sprayed soapy water on the outside of all threaded points (IN and OUT, dipstick and canister) with the engine running to check for leaks. NADA. I have driven a total of 67 miles since install and see no oil or residue in the reservoir. Hope it serves its purpose as intended. UPDATE: Drive 150 miles in one day. Ran 85 mph on some stretches and quickly hit 100+. Hooray for the speed limits in Texas. The next day I checked the collection jar and there was half a teaspoon of oil in it. Oil is also leaking from the receiver O-ring. I didn't clean it as I decided this would help lubricate and maintain the elasticity of the o-ring. I wanted to add some teflon tape but after re-rolling it, starting the engine and spraying the can again with soapy water there are no vacuum leaks. Seems to be working as intended. UPDATE: 08/25/21 Some media paper at the bottom of the can on 08/21. added. (in this case a sheet of Bounty paper towel). It catches oil and other contaminants and the catch can dry out.
