I couldn't believe they would fit in place of the hinges we've had in our kitchens since the 1960's! We recently repainted our kitchen cabinets and had to remove the old hinges. Imagine my surprise that I found them and they fit perfectly. Be aware that if you replace your "old" hinges, they will have a slightly larger pivot pin. They fit snugly in the holes in the closet and door. However, the larger bolt causes two doors to overlap where they meet. I had to sand each door where it met another door. I expect that will be the case with all new hinges - our old hinges weren't as thick as these. As for the material, these hinges are very well made, but the screws were not very high quality. I used my own screws in 2 places where I felt the need for stronger and slightly thicker screws. In general I am very satisfied with the result. The hinges look so good with both white and brown cabinets.
