budget gem? the best amps

If you are building your system on a budget and know how to build it RIGHT this is a good little amp. I have a 2017 Ford Transit 250 Extended Hightop for delivery and speed work, and since I'm on the road 10-14 hours a day I'm building a system that kills the boredom of being on the road late. Watch. I have 2 Lanzar HTG-447 4 channel amps and 3 Lanzar HTG-157 mono amps, all powered by a BOSS BX-55 crossover, a Chinese double DIN Android head unit and a Sirius XM touchscreen receiver are driven. As speakers I use 4 Pioneer TS-A6996S 5-way 6x9 in a special box above the rear doors, 2 Pioneer TS-A1680F 6.5" in the rear doors, 2 Pioneer TS-A6990F 5-way 6x9 in the front in the trunk area at the back mounts the seats, 2 Pioneer TS-A1680F 6.5" in the front doors and 3 dual Infinity Reference 1262W 4 ohm subwoofers connected to 2 ohms. Each sub is powered by its own amplifier. Currently in an old sealed box from another project, which will be replaced with a custom vented box I'm building. The system is powered by the truck's main battery and a 4-pack of Exide batteries. I have 3 4gauge power wires from the battery to each of the fuse blocks. Amplifier, crossover, inverter and fuse boxes are mounted on the wall behind the driver's seat. The entire cargo area was paneled with plywood and painted black. I need to leave as much space as possible for the cargo. The attached image does not convey fairness to the system and is a work in progress due to my limited time at home. I hope to complete it in the next few months. This system kicks ass, sounds fantastic, and gives you great feedback when you're cruising down the road. You can't go wrong with Lanzar amps if you install and power them properly. As with any amplifier, you need to power them correctly and with minimal distortion. I don't believe in the advertised performance of Lanzar amps and I don't have an amp dyno to test output performance but for the price you can't go wrong. With the right setup I get a nice clear sound at a reasonable price. FYI, I still have a couple of 10 year old Lanzar amps in my car that my daughter now uses as a daily car and they still work.

Pros
  • great price
Cons
  • speed
