This pump is quieter and more powerful than my heavy and expensive pond pump, but the pond pump comes with a long, heavy-duty, grounded power cord. It doesn't seem legal to run a two-wire cable in aquariums. The two milling hose adapters supplied are designed for relatively large hoses. This product should actually come with small adapters for 3/8" and 1/4". Due to the light weight, you will need very flexible hoses for the device to sit flat - silicone or rubber. I hate incomplete specs! Hose connection thread metric 12x1.5. You can find it for an anodized aluminum fuel hose end, but that adds a lot to the cost.
