While restoring our old Wii, I encountered a problem: the picture on our Samsung 4K TV was blurry and greyscale. Turns out this is typical for new TVs that don't like composite video inputs. Nintendo made a component (5-wire RCA) cable to fix this, but it was only a dollar more, came with a (short) HDMI cable, and completely solved the problem. A nice bonus was that it plugged into the HDMI input, meaning it switched automatically and my receiver sent sound across the room, making it very easy to switch from one thing to a game and back again. Works much better than I expected for the money.
