A Few Facts for DIYers

I hope this was helpful as the dimensions seem very confusing. I don't know anything about plumbing, but I was able to easily replace this spout myself. The following information might come in handy when trying to decide which spout I needed: 1. The length of the spout from end to end is 5.5 inches (see image below). Yes, that fact is in the product description, but I'm making this clarification because you never know what measurements sellers are giving you.2. The pipe sticking out of your wall should be 4.0 inches long. This is the distance from the flange to the end of the pipe (or from the wall if you don't have a flange). I'm guessing your pipe could be as long as 4.25 inches since in my case not all threads were used and it could be tightened to go about a quarter of an inch more (see image below). 3. This spout is suitable for 1/2" IPS threaded pipe (iron pipe size). 1/2" refers to the inside diameter of your pipe. In case you were wondering, your pipe doesn't have to be iron, it can be PVC, copper or whatever be as long as it has IPS threads (I think that's the most common type).4.All you need is a pipe wrench and some teflon tape.Or you can use any tool to tighten the spout. You might even make it yourself I give this spout 5 stars for its looks and ease of installation The price seems to be the same everywhere As for the durability I have no idea as I only installed it a few days ago, but will update if needed.
