I've used a few of these from different manufacturers and they actually work as advertised. Some of them are better made than others, but they work exactly the same. This couple has been great so far. They work wonders on short-pile carpets. I have a long haired black cat and the amount of fluff that comes out is eye opening. It also picks up crumbs and other small particles as you scoop them across the carpet. The only downside is that it does next to nothing on very thick pile carpets. That's not a surprise per se, but a disappointment nonetheless. I would be very careful with the type of fabric you use this on. It will rip absolutely anything super thin (e.g. a sweater). I used it on a wool coat to remove pills and it was perfect. But really, I feel like it's made for carpets. Oh, and it's great for stair runners. Very convenient to have.
