This drive uses a dual standard USB 3.0 connector and has USB-A on the end (wish they had a USB-A to USB-C -Converter added to). The file transfer speed is what you would expect from USB 2.0 and not USB 3.0 as the hard drive speed doesn't even hit 7200rpm and the maximum speed of the write heads is just over 110MB/s for me. The reading speeds are similar and can therefore only really be used for documents and not as an additional program disk. On the other hand, if the manufacturer did a good quality control of the internal components (which I think they did), this drive should last longer than a flash drive. It's a slow but stable drive that I would probably use for archiving rather than as a secondary executable drive, but the current price is quite high for the space allotted to an NTFS formatted drive.
