I bought this to use on a pipe replacement project. One of the complaints we had in our current home was that the water got very hot when the shower head was "hung up" in the head. When the normal water flow resumes, the water will first get hot and then return to the set temperature. This valve completely eliminates this problem by maintaining a constant temperature and completely preventing overheating. I didn't install it myself; my plumber took care of it so i can talk about the easy install.
