I've bought two racks for our 2002 Suburban and one for our 2006 Escalade, both GMT-800 trucks. These shelves looked great and installation was easy. The first problem we noticed was immediate: they're too stiff, requiring two hands to get the tailgate down. My wife leaves it to me when I'm around. Then after only 3 months they started making squeaking noises in stereo when lowered and after a few more weeks they were doing it both ways and gradually getting louder. Listen to my short video. I will replace them in a year. I recommend avoiding them for any tailgate except *maybe* the smallest and lightest.
