I needed a 3mm cord to go through the grommet so I bought this thinking cord would do as 1/8 is larger than 3mm. Unfortunately the eyelet hole is much smaller than 1/8. I couldn't even get the cord through the big washing machine. I can't say anything about the performance because I can't use it. The method of measuring eyelets may be common knowledge among crafters, but if you need very specific measurements I would recommend knowing the diameter of each hole before deciding on a size.
