Review on πŸ’‘ Enhance Your Electrical Outlet Capacity with the Arlington BE2 1 Outlet Extender by Christopher Gulledge

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works as intended, but there are a few things to note.

I used one of these in a utility room which was a 4 inch square box with a flat ring screwed onto it with holes for the sockets to screw in. this extension. I tested a standard 2 speed box that already has screws on the box and it worked great. I have another square box that I need to add an extension to and I'm going to try another type of box that allows me to screw the extension directly onto the box using the screw holes in the corners of the box. This extension plugs into an existing electrical box and is pressed against the drywall by tabs on the outer edge when sockets or switches are screwed in. This allows the extension to work at a variety of widths (up to 1-1/2 inches), unlike other box extensions that have a specific depth, such as . B. 1/2 inch. If the drywall was also cut large, problems can arise if the tabs don't make contact with the drywall or any other surface of your wall. The extension cord is not attached to the box alone. The kit includes 4 screws that are used to attach the switch/socket to the electrical box while also holding the extension cord in place. The screws are longer than those supplied with the brackets to provide more depth.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
