So far so good. I replaced the decorative lighting I had on the back deck with this. I used to use a LED string (single color) and wrapped it around the railing. It was good, but the wire wrapped like this picked up dirt and didn't look as pretty during the day. These LED strips are much cleaner and more even. Hopefully the glue will hold in place. I used some silicone caulk in various places (corners and bends) to help. It's very easy to place it in a straight line! Turn around, not so much. You can't achieve a 90 degree turn. And if you're not careful, you can pull on the strip, tearing the waterproof coating and exposing the flex chain underneath. I had to paint this part a little. Controller and power supply are not waterproof. Mine are on the deck itself which is covered. I can also wrap the joints in plastic wrap. But if you try exposing them to water, they will eventually fail or corrode. The picture uses 1 3/4 coils. I trim off the excess and caulk the end just in case. Since I had to use a connector to connect the two strings, I also need to seal it. The fact that this set uses Wi-Fi and an app is a huge bonus. While these IR remotes are great...they get lost and you won't always be in line of sight of the receiver. The white color isn't quite white... but these colored LEDs are. If you want pure white, you probably shouldn't get a color changer. Brightness is what I need for my purposes. This is necessary to set the mood in the hot tub or around the fire. You don't have to turn on real lights to attract the damn bugs. If you want them to provide actual lighting, they haven't done enough and you'll probably need to double the strips. I really like the look and can get another thread to add some extra lighting to the hot tub itself.
