I bought these to prevent my neighbor's cats from sleeping and peeing on patio furniture. I think it might have startled at least one cat because it settled in its usual spot last night. If they work I will get more. It's very thin plastic. Reminds me of the flimsy plastic containers that takeout food comes in. I thought they were fatter. However, I wouldn't want to walk on them barefoot, although I think they would crush under human weight. They are light and therefore need to be fixed. I put them under wire mesh which doesn't seem to bother cats? - Keep them on my patio furniture. They came with some tabs that you can use to connect them together. You might also be able to use some sort of anchor pin to hold them in place. I live in a very warm southwestern desert and expect them to become brittle if left outside over time. Overall I am happy with my purchase. I wouldn't want to pay more for them, but if they prevent unwanted animals from settling on my furniture and lower the irritation threshold, they're worth the money.
