Review on πŸ• CASIO G-Shock GG1000-1A5 Quartz Watch with Resin Strap - Beige, 30 by Jennifer Lawson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great looks and reliability - lots of pluses and a few (maybe) minuses

I bought this model because I was looking for a solid working watch and to me it's undeniably the coolest G-Shock in theirs Line - High. I was hesitant to buy it because of the size (55mm) as I usually wear 42mm and thought it might look ridiculously big on my 7 1/2 inch wrists and rattle all the time but kinda because of it is not felt. as gigantic as I thought. I often wear long-sleeved shirts and work gloves. So if you're just wearing a short sleeve t-shirt it might look huge, but it's very comfortable, very light and just looks cool. I had the design, I like the color scheme and the negative display, but be aware, as cool as it looks, the negative display is not always visible depending on the lighting you are in (see attached images ) ... but to be honest I like it all The gauges aren't front and center every time I look at the watch. I don't always have to see everything at once... it makes the display too crowded for me. In almost all cases, these displays were readable, so this was not a problem. Also, negative display windows contain secondary information...like day/date/24 hour time/compass/temperature...so 95% of the time I don't need to see the day and date every time I look at my watch (although I almost always see them) If you know the day and date, you know the rest of the day. that's not going to change... and if you like using a 24-hour clock, you already know how to tell the time just by looking at the analog hands, so you don't have to read the display... the same applies to the other measured values. How often do you need to know your compass bearing in degrees (the second hand points north so you don't need a display) and the temperature sensor only gives you an accurate reading when it's not on your wrist (your body heat affects the reading). ? ), so that these windows may not always be visible is not a problem for me, but if it bothers you, use one of the other models. To me the gray background on the positive display just smells like "cheap digital" while the negative display is much slimmer and this model also has 5 minute markers that have been darkened to be more discreet... just cool, i really love this watch. In my opinion the most beautiful G-Shock ever made. PROS: Great looks / Durable / Lightweight / Comfortable / Easy to read analog hands / Large buttons for easy access / Great features (Alarm / Compass / Temperature display / 24-hour clock / Countdown time / Stopwatch / World time / Face light) /PRICE - Originally released for $320 but got it for $200. The temperature sensor only gives you accurate readings when it's not on your wrist (your body heat will affect the readings) / Since it's a combo A/D, hands sometimes cover the digital windows and dim the day/date setting /learning curve. (was unfamiliar with digital clocks) but found a youtube video that explained everything very simply.
