If you have a microplan in your shopping cart, toss it and select this one. I don't want to discount the micro plan because it's a great product too, but if you care about the price, here's my take. Not only will you save a few bucks, you'll be a lot happier too. It is extremely durable and sharp! It has a non-slip rubber foot on one end and it's awesome! It has a larger grid surface compared to the elongated microplane design. I also really like the little brush that comes with it. Great product so far!
