Review on 💻 ASUS CHROMEBOX3-N3299U: Intel Core i3 Mini PC with 4K UHD Graphics and Power Over Type C Port, Star Gray by Jacolbe Mind

I actually bought two of these, model N019U, so the issues I've noticed may not apply to other versions. The first just blocked with a white noise screen after two days. The second made it in about 5 minutes. I suspect the devices didn't like my 2 year old Samsung TV. I returned one and left the other connected to the older Samsung and four days later it was still unlocked. I set the screen resolution the same on both devices, so I suspect it has something to do with HDMI performance, but who knows. I kept the device despite having screen issues and I really like its function when using most of the apps from the Android app store. I can use my favorite crossword app, Pandora app or Google Music app. It's a shame that Amazon's music app isn't available. Another thing I like about N019U is that it is very fast. I'm using a 4 year old Chromebox and sometimes it works fine and other times it just lags. The speed of the N019U was only limited by the websites I visited. I suspect these are just bugs that ASUS or Google have yet to fix. If they've looked at it, it should be a good car. I add to this review that I also tried to buy an HP Chromebox and had problems with my 4K TV as well. I've found that I don't experience any freezes if I set the screen resolution to a low enough value. I also found that I could reduce the blocking frequency by connecting the USB-C to the TV via an adapter rather than directly through the HDMI port on the box.
