I bought a set of two filters and this time I've kept track of exactly how long the filter lasted before it went 'RED'. The fact is that the service life of the filter is greatly overestimated. And actually advertised completely wrong. I have city water and TDS is mid range. So generally safe city water of decent quality. Each refill of the Black Pitcher yields approximately 7 cups of filtered water. I installed a new filter on 01/18/2018. Today 4/2/18 the fliter turned red as it began its cycle. So the question is, how much filtered water have I processed from January 18th to date? The answer may shock you. I was able to get 37 full cycles from one filter. About 7 cups by 37, that's less than 17 gallons of pure water from a filter. This is a far cry from the claimed 350 gallons. This isn't exactly a frugal approach to getting great-tasting water.
