A NOTICE. Doesn't work with production blenders

Wanted to write this review for all the people who work in production. I bought this to extract sound from an Apple TV that I wanted to connect to Blackmagic ATEM 1 Production Studio. The sound is then fed to the sound mixer board. The system is set to 1080p 59.94 and the Apple TV can display Blackmagic with no problem. When I plug JTech's Audio Extractor into the HDMI path, things get really shaky. The display shows up, but keeps flickering, preventing you from establishing a reliable connection. This happens for each audio option. I also tried connecting the computer to JTech and got this output and it's the same problem. I assume this could work fine when connected to a TV, but it's not a solution for a production environment. Not sure what the internals do so it doesn't just pass through the HDMI signal and things get choppy when it hits the video switcher. I've also tried the non-4K version of the JTech Audio Extractor and it's the same issue. I'm still looking for an adapter that does what I need and has true passthrough so as not to interfere with the HDMI connection.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Not sure
