I was sad, I really wanted this thing to work.

I was sad I really wanted this thing to work and it worked first. I had no trouble buying new HDMI cables because it didn't have a good handshake with the TV and receiver. Then it started flickering which made me angry thinking my TV was broken. I know it's about Arc support, but to be honest it's struggled with that from the start. I've only had it a week, and today it was having trouble turning it on and off. It should be automatic without turning on and off. Only disappointment is the 4K…

Audio delay fixed on PS5

I'm having trouble connecting my PS5 to my TV via HDMI and then using the optical output from my TV to my receiver (my receiver doesn't support 4k/HDR). The sound was clearly delayed by half a second, slightly. I wanted to see what options I had before spending $600 on a new receiver. I decided to try this extractor first because it specifically mentions HDR support. I connected everything and voila, the audio delay is GONE. However, I found that my TV is not recognized as HDR compatible. Step…

A NOTICE. Doesn't work with production blenders

Wanted to write this review for all the people who work in production. I bought this to extract sound from an Apple TV that I wanted to connect to Blackmagic ATEM 1 Production Studio. The sound is then fed to the sound mixer board. The system is set to 1080p 59.94 and the Apple TV can display Blackmagic with no problem. When I plug JTech's Audio Extractor into the HDMI path, things get really shaky. The display shows up, but keeps flickering, preventing you from establishing a reliable…

Audio Delay - Video Converter

This review is based on the manufacturer. I have both the 1080HD version and this 4K version of the product. The 1080HD version works great, I've had it for a long time. Because of this experience, I decided to buy this 4K version. Both versions were connected to a 2020 Apple TV 4K. I'm using this 4K J-Tech unit to split an HDMI signal from an Apple TV 4K to HDMI going to the TV and optical audio to my receiver. , but the sound is a problem. There's a noticeable lag in audio sync, which is…

Solved my need for analog wireless headphone support with Roku

After installing a new 40-inch Samsung 4k TV in my bedroom last year, I was a little disappointed to learn that it had no analogue (red and white). . RCA) for audio output, like all my previous TVs. It seems that some of the newer TVs these days only have an optical output, which would be fine if it weren't for the fact that the TV's speakers turn off when you turn it on. So instead of connecting the Sennheiser wireless headphone base unit to the TV with RCA jacks, I had to connect them…

Astro A50 + Xbox Series X

I was upset when I realized my new Xbox Series X didn't have an optical port. This meant I was no longer able to use my favorite Astro A50 headset. I've spent a few hours browsing the internet and found that people have successfully used Audio Extractors as a workaround for Xbox Series X. This particular product has been recommended the most as it supports 4k resolution and 60Hz frame rate. Just make sure you have at least 2 Ultra High Speed HDMI.1 cables on hand. An HDMI cable comes from the…

I solved my need for analog wireless headphone support with Roku

After installing a brand new 40 inch Samsung 4k TV in my bedroom last year, I was a bit disappointed to learn that it didn't have an analogue (red and white RCA) plug for audio output , like all my previous TVs. Some of the newer TVs these days seem to only have an optical output, which would be fine if it weren't for the fact that the TV's speakers spin when you turn it off. Doesn't do what the average user needs.

Pros: Works at 4K and 60Hz Both optical and audio outputs are output simultaneously. Cons: Surround sound doesn't work on MANY devices. I bought it to get sound through an HDMI cable. My setup doesn't work with TV audio output, so such a box must be present. This is to get the sound from the HDMI cable before it reaches the TV. The only device I tested that worked with surround sound without an optical cable was the PS4. If you go into the audio settings on PS4 you can change the audio type to…
