The only downside is the non-removable map pocket

Bought this bag at the last minute before a 4000 mile trip on my Enfield Himalayan. The bag worked very well; The only downside I can find is that the card slot is part of the bag and not a separate detachable part. Its sides are stiff enough that it holds its shape when not fully filled, which is nice. Big card slot, clean window. The manufacturer says it works with phones (you can slip your phone into the card slot and operate its controls through the clear vinyl); I couldn't do that with an iPhone 8. I don't really care. Magnets stick tenaciously to the gas tank; They couldn't move 300 miles of bumpy roads in jeeps. I haven't tried "pass-through" ports for electrical cords. I also don't understand why anyone would use side zippers that allow access to the main compartment but don't get in the way. I used zippers that allow the bag to flex a bit (to reveal the tank consoles on cruise bikes) as the HImalayan has a fairly thin tank. The Velcro mesh pocket on the inside of the lid is handy to carry the next state map. The orange lining makes it difficult to lose small items in nooks and crannies. The bag was not subjected to a rigorous rain test (no rain cover provided), but it did not leak during Utah's short, strong monsoon. nice sturdy bag that I expect will serve well for a couple of years.

Pros
  • Bright orange interior, side zips for quick access, handy top map pocket
Cons
  • Some issues
