Review on Airhead Towable Boating Orange Yellow by Sourn Debremarkos

The bittersweet death of our 4-seater.

The children loved it. i hated it He died this weekend and I threw him in the trash can in fear. I will say this has been the case for three years and we are STRONG visitors to the lake. During that time I had to patch it many times (large lower bladder) as well as sew on patches on the outer shell a few times. It wasn't easy to keep it in order, but I was able to get it back in the water every year. Why Kids Love It: It's like pulling a couch. Some kids just want to ride. No tricks. It's great for that. Some adults also liked to ride this way. Heck, sometimes they brought an ice cold drink. In other cases, they wanted to throw the children away. I have 250hp on our TriToon which makes these tubes easy to make. But our previous pontoon was 20 feet long and had 60 horsepower. With a little effort, you could get some decent spins even with a setup this weak. Why I hate him: Another double bladed sword, it's like dragging a sofa. It's huge. This is a big pain to fill. Dries forever. It's very heavy, especially when it's wet. There is no place to store (never put it in a ski case, it takes three people to pull it out). It hurts to deflate and fold. And under no circumstances should you get it wet. Period. But. It also absorbs UV like crazy so it's hard to dry in the sun (your only option right now). When you're a deadhead (and sometimes even when you're not), it thinks it's a submarine, the bow goes under, and this thing's design just keeps submerging it. Design is a big issue. Where the seams meet in the lower polymer chamber, they are not strong enough. Especially around corners. I often had to patch holes in it. By the day he finally died I had just spent two hours reattaching the patch to the outer shell and then tracing and patching three new holes. Brought it back into the water and ten minutes later it was completely torn in half at about the same spot where the "A" and "B" are in MABLE - all the way. The rest fell off like a sock. There wasn't a spot where it ripped, so it was just a bad stitch. My friend has a three seater car. I borrowed it after our last fight with this thing. Discuss whether to buy next time. It only has one seat less but is much easier to handle. The bottom chamber is much thinner, lighter, dries faster, easy to fold and store, etc. It's even easier for kids to sit on. But I'm worried about the quality. Next time maybe with a different design. I'm not sure yet, but I don't recommend this version at all.
