Overall good case at a very good price. It fits well and looks great on the boat. If this was the first lid I'd ever bought I'd give it five stars, but I'm comparing it to the lid it replaces and there are a couple of points where there's room for improvement: - The lid is advertised as 600D weight but is thinner than the ones it replaced. It also has a vinyl or other backing that the original didn't have. I don't think there is a weight heavier than 600D so I'm not sure if the original cap is above specs or if this one is out of specs. However, the original cap was more expensive than this cap, costing about 10 years or so ago. There is no cloth on the front of the lid to reinforce it. I see this as a problem for two reasons: 1) This is where the cover sits tight on the side light, which creates a lot of stress at that point. Here the last coating wore off first and was then covered with several layers. 2), this is also the point where the load is applied when transporting the boat with the canvas cover. The two straps on the back are different and must be looped around the frame before attaching to the case. It is troublesome to install and remove when transporting the boat without a cover. These straps must be the same style as the rest of the straps on the cover. (Also, there are no instructions in the kit, so I may be using these straps incorrectly, but I can't figure out the manufacturer's intent). Otherwise, as already mentioned, the case is well made and offers good value for money. At this price point (compared to major boat shop brands) I believe I can change it twice as often and still come out on top. I recommend this case for the price.
