My youngest son usually wears a size 10-12 and is in the middle between a jean size 10 and a jean size 12. 10's will soon be too short (he's about 10 years old) and 12's can be a bit long but doable. It pairs well with skinny jeans, so these Levi's Boys slim fit jeans with an elastic waistband suit him really well, with a slight, relaxed fit on straight legs. The size is perfect and the fit is perfect for him. He has special sensory needs and REALLY dislikes clothes that make him feel a little uncomfortable. I almost always bought jeans from a big store that had an inside adjustable waistband (with buttons on each side to adjust) and those were the only ones he actually wore and wore well. Until now! I've seen quality boys' jeans that stretched at the waist and didn't have elastic buttons (which could hide deep in the inset/in the creases and were never seen again if they came loose from the buttons, often during the wash), like that that I was somewhat doubtful. I've seen and we've used ones that have a false front and elastic waistband for easy on and off, but they aren't. They have a button and zip fly through and an elasticated waist so you get the best of both worlds. I'm sold now They're MUCH better and you don't have to worry about that silly little strip unraveling and hopelessly hiding in your jeans where you can't even get to them. The elastic strap is wider and doesn't "tighten" the jeans like other jeans (making them feel more like regular jeans) and they move with baby as they move while staying in place. The waist stays nice and secure (and most importantly COMFORTABLE) even when you're sitting, leaning forward, etc. No more underpants to show if he's leaning or sitting a certain way. It bends with your body. At the same time, they don't restrict you too much and if you want to wear a belt with a tucked-in shirt, that works great too. Nobody will suspect that there is an elastic band inside. Although they are snug, they still have plenty of room to move down the legs and don't look like over-twisted "tight" jeans. They don't hang down his legs and they're not tight - they have a classic look with straight legs and keep the waist where it needs to be. The darker color goes with almost everything. My son says these are his new favorite pair of jeans (and considering he's sensitive to clothes that fit him 'right' that's a pretty serious statement) so I think we'll switch. to these from here! To be honest, I'd be glad to stop messing around with those stupid adjustable internal straps. I highly recommend it!
