First of all, this item is probably more suitable for curious and inventive children. I bought this set for my mom and we both laughed at our mistakes. The magnets are strong. On the one hand, that's good, because they stay in place. On the other hand, this is unfavorable because their strength makes it difficult to control the units in the formation. The pieces keep pulling together, making it difficult to keep your structure in place. I mean, if you're looking for a real physical and intellectual challenge, go for it. I'm sure it takes more practice to learn how to use these magnets. It's fun, but I'm not an engineer. My structures so far have been limited to flat shapes and 3D shapes that lie flat. But lots of laughter!
