I was very surprised by the size (small) of this device. Despite its size, however, it records very well and has a huge storage capacity. The size of the keys didn't bother me, as some other reviewers have pointed out. It has a speaker that some devices don't have - you definitely want that! Also, the files are not proprietary. So when you plug the device into a USB port (and it effectively works as a flash drive [it can actually be used to store other types of files]), it will show up as another drive in Windows Explorer, making it easy to browse files from the device to any other location by simply dragging and dropping them. I use mine to read books for my kids and for me and my wife so I can burn them to CD and listen to them later. A great audio editing software for cleaning up your files after uploading (removing coughs, pauses, etc.) is WavePad (link to WavePad downloads page: [.]), which is free. It also helps you prepare them for recording (CD) and can help you merge files (e.g. reading a long chapter in a book over multiple recording sessions [i.e. multiple different files on the device]) into a single file , e.g. B. Chapter by chapter. , sold separately, works well with this device.[.]
