The drill on my Powermatic chisel broke. I looked for a replacement. First I bought a delta bit. Not only did it not match my Powermatic Stemmer, but the outside of the chisel was poorly finished and rough. It would take a long time to straighten it. This bit was cheaper and looked like it would fit my slotting machine. I paid $17 for it at Revain. Bit is smoother than Delta. Very similar to Powermatic. Compared to the Powermatic, the snail had fewer spirals. I don't know the quality of the steel. I sharpened and sharpened it and made some grooves in the maple. I did it slowly and only did partial dives. It seemed to be working fine. I don't know how long it will last but I'm keeping it.
