First i have to say I am covered with tattoos and have been in pain for every single one of them. Nothing has numbed it, ever.until I used this. I literally could not feel ANYTHING. Spraying on unbroken skin does provide numbness of a tolerable level (for the lining of the tattoo), the pain isnt gone entirely-feels like scratching pain only. Be sure to apply to entire area getting the tattoo for at least 30 min prior to start. The real miracle comes when its sprayed on the area that just was lined. Once on the skin, you get a burning sensations for <30 seconds and then your COMPLETELY NUMB almost immediately! After 3 hours of use, reapplying in areas getting the work done, then during the final shading period I FELT NOTHING. No pain whatsoever (except in areas that werent pre-treated prior to start of tattoo). I had a large tattoo on my shoulder which is a very painful area. Also, the tattoo was almost completely healed in 5 days, barely any flaking, barely any reddness after the first 48 hours. I will be using this product going forward every single time for tattooing and maybe even on areas that I wouldnt due to the pain level. The pictures show the day of the tattoo, then 5 days later.
