Review on 🌊 Quick Dam QD1224-6: Flood Bags 1ft x 2ft, 6-Pack - Fast-Acting Water Activated Barrier for Flood Prevention by Tim Hodzic

Good alternative to normal sandbags.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE USING THESE PACKAGES. I bought these bags because my patio flooded during the heavy Arizona monsoon rains. I placed them at the front edge of the patio to keep water off the patio. They work well, but there are a few things to consider before using them. 1) It is better to wet them before the flood appears. It will take you a minute or two to start drinking water. I waited for the water to start flooding the patio to put them in and by the time the bags of water were "thick" enough to act as a sandbag, the water had seeped into the patio. Once the bags got really "thick" like a sandbag, they got heavy and with the second row of bags on top they really stopped the water. 2) Between each heavy rain I left pockets on the edge of the terrace. As they began to dry, they began to flatten out again, but there was enough water left that they didn't have to be re-wetted before the next thunderstorm. 3) I left them on the edge of the patio to dry at the end of a rainy day. season but they were in the shade of the terrace. After 3 weeks they were mostly dry and flat, but it's best to put them in a very sunny spot and they'll dry quickly. 4) Here is a VERY IMPORTANT THING to know. If you lift them to move them, they will be slightly damp on the underside. This moisture is coming out of the bag and it is VERY SLIPPER so don't step on the moisture underneath the bag. Also, do not step on the bag itself. After drying, the inside of the bag's absorbent material felt "lumpy" rather than "fine sand". I hope this will not be a problem next year when I use them again. One more thing. I bought these bags in April, two months before the rainy season and in preparation for the rainy season. The cost for 20 bags is $90. After the start of the rainy season I decided to order another box just in case. The same company increased the price to $125 for the same 20 bags. Overall I recommend this product because it really works.
