They helped, but .: Safe accessories

I'm sure they helped solve the water leakage problem, but they have disadvantages. They dry *months* and leave a mark - I don't know what it is. I hung a few over a chair in a sheltered area outside and they dried quicker but some dripped onto the concrete below. Others I put on a plank of wood in the garage and they still haven't dried (since mid-May) and left some on the concrete floor leaving a hard, hard residue and staining the concrete. All of this suggests that they held back quite a bit

Save us so much money and hassle from before the tide.

This is our second year buying these flood protection bags. I saved my home in the Houston area from flooding last year. I saved over $10,000 by not having water at home. We have parquet floors and the house is only one story. I spent my last $100 on bags but got a lot of money for it. Water came out of all 3 doors we have but we stopped using those bags (4 bags for each door) this year. I plan to prevent water from entering my home by using 6 bags instead of 4 on our floors. I love these bags…

Good investment for rainy weather

I have trouble getting water into my garage when it rains heavily. I saw them and after some research decided to try them. I have two major problem areas with leaks and they seem to be doing pretty well. I have four bags in front of the garage door that hold up pretty well and these two are on the side door. I plan on installing another barrier for the big door just to add bag supports and maybe buy another pack of bags to keep handy. My only problem is drying them. The company's website states

They work, look good in place and add extra security. Get a bunch.

That's great. I bought several boxes that should last for years because any average rain will cause water to run under the basement door so I don't have to worry about water getting into the basement. I just keep them there all the time, with a cheap patchwork rug over them in case I need to duck and don't feel like walking straight on them. As they soak up water they get as big as regular sandbags and I keep them there for days or weeks until I have a chance to throw them out and replace them…

Can't say enough good things about these bags

After successfully using the long Quick Dam Flood Barrier Tube I really wanted to like these bags but I find it difficult to use them because of the absorbent material shifts in the pocket. You need to evenly distribute the material in the pouch before wetting it or you'll end up with clumps of moderately rich innards. But even if you do it carefully before activating them, the rich materials inside the bag shift when you move it, and I found I had to move the absorbent material (outside the…

Safety Accessory Flood Preparedness Pack

If you live in a floodplain or coastal area, or need to pack your home in case you get caught in the path of a hurricane, these bags should be first in your emergency first aid kit. We live in South Florida. We've tried many of these bags, and while they're only 2 feet long, they overlap in a way that makes them the most effective barrier other than building a house on stilts. There are 2 things that make them amazing. First, 6 packs are packed into a bag no larger than Lay's potato chips…

Finally solved my flood problem - wow!

I have a sloping backyard and an outside staircase that leads to the lower level of my home. When we have a lot of rain, water enters the house. I've spent a lot of money on stairwell fences, renovated the sidewalk, built a small dam and so on. While all of those things mattered *somewhat*, I got some water. I was at the limit of my thoughts. A friend saw them and told me about it. I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Two days after they arrived we had a flash flood. There is no…

Good alternative to normal sandbags.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE USING THESE PACKAGES. I bought these bags because my patio flooded during the heavy Arizona monsoon rains. I placed them at the front edge of the patio to keep water off the patio. They work well, but there are a few things to consider before using them. 1) It is better to wet them before the flood appears. It will take you a minute or two to start drinking water. I waited for the water to start flooding the patio to put them in and by the time the bags of water were
