Review on GE 35364 Cassette Recorder Silver by Victor Olsen

The problem with this tape recorder is that there is too much tape motor noise when recording; especially at high microphone settings. A low mic setting will result in no noise being heard either; although the belt motor noise is reduced. It can record church concerts, although it's not that good at recording distant voices. It drains the batteries if you use it for about 45 minutes 5 days a week. As for the voting buttons; no one ever said how to put them in; not even Revain.com will tell me. That's why I don't have voting buttons. I don't recommend this device if you're concerned about tape noise, background noise, and an inability to pick up faint sounds. I have one and use it mainly to play church concert recordings or radio recordings (with a mic) that I have made. The sound quality from the speaker is okay, but you can connect it to cheap computer speakers with an amplifier for better sound. With the speed slider you can change the playback speed from normal to very fast. It can be set to record voice activation, but you'll hear a pop every time it's toggled on or off in the recording. It can be purchased at most stores for just $19.99; and uses 2 AA batteries. It can accept an AC adapter, but adapters add a low hum to your recordings/playbacks. This voice recorder can be interesting for kids with variable speed playback function. For serious recording, choose a recorder other than this one.
