I have an old receiver and a jazz transmitter that I like very much, but it didn't really fit the antenna that came with the receiver (loop). I used to have an indoor amplified antenna but I wasn't happy with the performance so I decided to start with this dipole. I needed a balun to connect the wires to the receiver, but I already had one connecting the loop to the receiver. I then pinned it to the wall and WBGO appeared but reception was poor so I switched it to a nearby wall and the red light on the receiver came on to indicate the transmitter was tuned in. I thought the levers could be longer. Since they only covered about 5 feet, it helped. Now I can clearly receive all the channels that I really like, even though I'm on the first floor. Since I bought a set of two antennas, I will be using a different antenna for AM since it allows me to receive baseball turn-by-turn broadcasts.
