This is a very comprehensive art kit for kids! Normally when it is for kids the quality is severely lacking but it was not the case with this kit. I was expecting the cheap plastic brushes but you won’t find any in this kit! The quality is much better than I expected for the price. It really has everything your budding artist needs to create their own masterpiece.My daughter has been taking monthly art classes and really enjoying them. I decided to try to recreate a similar experience at home and try out this kit. I actually went on-line and googled art tutorials for kids and was surprised to find numerous free ones. I traced the image using a free printable template and then played the video for my daughter. We would pause it and rewind it as needed but she had a great time and I loved that for the price of one class we can do it over and over again and she can paint what she is interested in! The template made her paintings easier for her to do and thus builds her confidence. I also like that she doesn’t compare her painting to other older and more advanced kids in the classes.My favorite part of the kit is the arm protectors. My daughter was notorious for ruining the sleeves of her shirt by dragging them across the wet canvas. These are so simple yet effective to keeping her shirts and arms clean. There is elastic on the tops and bottoms so they stay in place even on her little 6 year old arms. It also comes with an apron so no need to change into special play clothes.The brushes are not kid brushes but instead a nice quality painters set of brushes. It has all the most popular sizes and is more than she really needs but she is excited to have so many choices. It also comes with the primary paint colors, a mixing palate, and a coloring wheel to help mix colors and find complementary ones.It has an easel but it does slide a bit on our smooth table so we use a non slip pad (like are used under rugs and in cabinets) and it works well to hold it in place. She loves the easel and says it makes her a real artist. The set also comes with a stretched canvas and a couple of flat ones as well. It is a great starter set that can be used over and over again. We will of course need to purchase new paints and canvases as we need them but we will still have all the other basics. I am still impressed with how much you get and the quality at such an affordable price. I think we have found our new art classes right at our own kitchen table.I recommend them highly as they are very affordable and comprehensive.
