Review on πŸ” Optimized Search: Classic 600 Canister Filter 2217 by Sharon Hartmann

Eheim is a good choice

I have had several Eheim canister filters and now use two of these 600 (2217?) in my 90 gallon tank. Very quiet, absolutely reliable. People complain that they can't prepare them and I have to say they must be idiots. It's easy to do. They take a few seconds to start if you start with a full canister. I also drill a hole a few inches below the waterline in the outgoing siphon tube so the filter doesn't drain your tank if you have a catastrophic hose disconnection. This step used to be common knowledge, but I don't think it's recommended anymore. People complain about weak flow and I agree, so I use two of these on the 90. I also have a maxi jet to help with circulation. This combination is enough for an aquarium with half a dozen angelfish, 20 red neon tetras, 10 black neon tetras and various catfish and SAE. With the exception of the homemade sump system, these are the best (reliable, efficient) filters you can buy in my opinion. .
