I tried another "PowMr 40A Solar Charge Controller - Solar Charge Controller 12V 24V, Dual USB, Adjustable Parameters, LCD Display and Timer Setting, On/Off Clock (40A)" to replace because I thought it was an MPPT controller. Even if it's an MPPT (which I doubt) the screw terminal connection isn't designed to accommodate the size of conductors you need for a 40 amp device. In fact, the screw clamp seems to have failed when I pushed one of them too far. To add insult to injury, the mechanical/thermal design looks pathetic compared to the even cheaper model above. Basically, I'm going back for a refund. Don't worry; the one above is much better.
