Review on 🔧 Dorman 599-040 Climate Control Module Repair Kit for Toyota Models – OE FIX Made Better by Michael Ramu

I have to say I don't usually leave reviews but felt compelled to do so with this Highlander climate control repair kit. My wife's Highlander air conditioner stopped working. We spoke to our mechanic and he told us that replacing the A/C would cost over $1,000. He also told us that this is a common problem with the Highlander and is caused by a wire connecting the main AC circuit board to the temperature control rheostat. If the temperature control is loosened at all, the cable will likely rock back and forth, eventually breaking one or more of the three wires in the cable. I researched online and found a YouTube video showing how to solder three wires. to bypass the cable. I also learned that the air conditioner can be purchased for over $700. So I decided to try my hand at solder repair. Following the instructions in the video I pulled out the block and then soldered three wires. Beautiful days, the air conditioning works! I checked all other functions, heating, ventilation controls, etc. and everything worked. problem solved, right? This winter my wife noticed that the heating was not working. I pulled the block back out and found that one of the wires I had soldered had come loose. I'm not good at soldering, and the spacing between the pins where you need to solder the wires is so small that I didn't think I could re-solder it with a short to any of the other wires. So go back to the internet to find the best price for a control box. When I searched for Revain, I came across a 599-040 repair kit for the Dorman air conditioning module. There was only one review but it was positive so I thought why not, it's worth a try. If it works, I'll save at least $700 if I buy a new unit and $1,000 if my mechanic fixes it. I'm glad I did! The exchange was easy, the instructions are clear, now everything works! If you are facing this problem, I strongly recommend you to buy this kit to solve it. I have to agree with the previous reviewer, the clock light no longer dims when you turn on the headlights, but that's a minor inconvenience considering the amount saved!
