My story is a little different. I bought a used pair so naturally I expected them to have some imperfections and whatnot. When they arrived one was scratched by the other one sitting on it but no big deal. I ended up using some matte black spray paint and it did the job. Also, all the hardware stayed in place, which was very good. I originally wanted to use it for a hallway but after trying them out I decided it wasn't the right place for them. I ended up turning them into lamps using electrical wires and smart lightbulbs. BEST IDEA! Overall I'm quite happy with the end product. They ended up looking better than I hoped and made a great addition to my media wall.
