Precision 3 way head but not Nodal Ninja

What really surprised me about this product when I received it today was its size and weight. Make no mistake, this is a well built, high performance head. It is equipped with a quick release plate, independently adjustable balance springs and adjustable as follows. Spirit levels in vertical and horizontal axis. Two minor complaints. 1) With all the good number scales for fine-tuning head positioning, the quick release plate cannot guarantee perfect camera alignment when mounted. on the plate, which destroys all other precision and requires some care and common sense when installing the camera. 2) The rotation adjustment scale is hard to read as the graduations and numbers are printed in white on gray (not black). ) base plate. In addition, the control levers are large and easy to use. The weight of this head deserves some attention. I have a 0X55PROB tripod and the mount/adjustment rod can be positioned horizontally and extended beyond the tripod's center of gravity. With a head this heavy, combined with the weight of the camera, the weight of the flash and other weights, care and common sense must be taken to ensure the tripod is stable and not tipped over by shifting the center of gravity too far. Center. I love this product but would like to expand my head choice with a fast and agile ball head and a good flat head like the Manfrotto Nodal Ninja or equivalent Nodal Ninja.

Pros
  • cool product
