Updated 9/2021. Make sure the lids are in the exact center of the container; When you do this, the lids close easily. I've gradually replaced our old plastic containers (some of them didn't even have a recycling symbol on them...that's how old they were) with glass containers. This set was exactly what I needed. I like the glass and the tops fit really well and are comfortable. Several reviewers mentioned having trouble sealing the lids. I found the pair to be a bit more difficult to close initially; I just closed three that closed easily, then double-fingered the fourth. Everything else opens and closes very easily. Cleaning is easy and it's nice not to have to worry about chemicals leaching from the old plastic. The glass is thick and very durable. Great quality at a reasonable price!
