As my coffee lover husband said, it's a pretty adequate coffee maker. This is a simple, "dumb" drip coffee maker. You fill in the coffee grounds, pour in the water, press the switch and in a few minutes you already have a cup of coffee that tastes like filter coffee. This machine isn't for talking in the kitchen, it's for making coffee, and it gets the job done. The permanent, removable filter is great, easy to clean and I don't feel overly wasteful. Since this coffee maker has a fixed switch (rather than a button), it seems like a smart person could plug it into a smart plug, prime overnight, and ask Alexa to brew coffee in the morning. But since I'm dumber than my coffee maker, I wouldn't bother tweaking it... maybe someday. If you're looking for a basic coffee maker that makes good filter coffee and works with a switch, this is a great buy. I received this as a gift, probably wouldn't have bought it myself as I would have preferred something in stainless steel to match my decor.
