Perfect for off-road trips!

I like hiking in the winter, but getting off the trail is usually a problem due to unpredictable snow levels. I didn't want bulky snow pants and I didn't have money for ski/snowboard pants. I never thought of using leg warmers but my sister recommended them and they ended up being a perfect fit for my needs and budget! I was a bit nervous because the entire front closure is velcro but to my surprise it's a great closure. When I left the trail I was covered in snow above my knees but the snow didn't get in. The durable fabric provides another layer of warmth for your calves, weather protection, and bush/branch protection when you head off the trail. They have a boot hook with eyelets for gaiters at the top of the foot and the bottom strap is long enough to hold my YakTrax. The bottom is tightened with a very tight but flexible elastic, and the top is tightened with an adjustable buckle. I am very impressed. I wear ankle boots, hiking socks, a base layer, and cotton-lined jogging pants, and they fit me perfectly, leaving enough room to change into something larger, like jeans, mid-calf trekking boots, or even streamlined snowshoes. As far as I know they paid for themselves the first time I wore them! LOVE!
