Bought my Vasque Sundowners from REI in Albuquerque in 1997 to go hiking. They have served me well since I climbed Half Dome in Yosemite three times, other trails in NorCal and Oregon, and even went into the Philippine jungle a few times. Also, when I first bought them, I didn't do any additional leather work or impregnation. I've been doing some stuff in Maui lately and I've noticed my sundowners are looking pretty dry and battered. So I got Neatsfoot Oil and after the treatment my vasques are looking decent again. Halfway down I stopped to photograph the treated boot versus the untreated. The photos speak for themselves. (I put some colorful pieces around the shoes for color balance.)
