I bought these for a size 26 cross stitch/embroidery needle with two strands of DMC floss. They work well, but you have to be careful. I find that the best results are achieved when I hold the needle threader by both the plastic and the base of the wire so that there is no tension separating the wire from the holder. I broke one without doing it and another failed when the wire twisted badly after regular use. I twisted the wire but didn't try again as there are so many pieces. I've had them for a few months and have been using the current needle threader daily for about a month with the above advice with no harm. Another tip: After threading the thread, make sure not to twist the wire when pulling it through. At least for me, I've found that hand movements add momentum, and I should consciously avoid adding that momentum.
