I underwent a double mastectomy a couple of years ago and am now having a scar cover up tattoo done. With over 15 inches of scarring you can imagine it's a rather large tattoo (love it but it is big. Anyway, the first session was horrible and after 3 hours my fingers were curled and I couldn't move them then went home and slept for 7 hours afterwards. I decided after that experience that I either didn't want to finish the tattoo or to find something to numb the pain and since I loved my design I opted to find something to help with pain management and after some research decided to give Numb 520 a go. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I slathered it on a half hour before my tattooing appointment (forgot to take saran wrap with me so just hoped my shirt didn't rub it off - and it worked like a charm. For the most part I didn't feel anything but the vibrations of the tattoo gun except for a couple areas where my shirt had rubbed off the cream (shoulder bones and fatty area near underarms - where side boob would be). Where the tattooing was the worst during the first session (middle of my chest - boney area with not much meat) was even numbed so I was extremely happy with my experience. Even my tattoo artist commented that it was a totally different experience this time and she could tell how relaxed I was. LOL The artist, one of the other artists and the tattoo shop owner took note of the product - it's that good! I had a 4 1/2 hour session and could have easily gone even longer but my husband needed a few hours sleep before he had to go back to work so we opted to leave the color for my next appointment - which I'm now looking forward to instead of dreading.! My husband says I cheated, I say, why suffer when you don't have to?
