Poorly made threaded bolt/post. Problematic

I just bought an ignition coil for my Mercruiser and when I tried to fit and screw in the second threaded stud by hand, the stud was so soft that it sheared off with the same number of turns and force as the ignition coil . had a positive pole. Anyway, it's not something you want to press too hard, but the lock washer didn't even shrink before breaking off. When tightening, beware of very bad metal. Now I don't have the money for a $90 reel I can't use and a boat. I hope the seller does something to fix the problem and I will consider giving a better rating.
