Review on 🔍 ASUS Chromebook Flip C433 Review: 14-inch Touchscreen, Intel Core m3, 8GB RAM, 64GB Storage by Adam Whittaker

Honestly, if you're considering this laptop, you've already considered the Galaxy Chromebook and the Asus C434. I also. I chose this one because it had better battery life than the Galaxy Chromebook and more power than the C434 with comparable battery life. BUT! With a premium price tag, you can have high expectations, and it falls short of three key aspects. I use my Chromebook to run an ecommerce business. Now that it's all over, let's get down to business.1. The battery life is far from what is advertised in the real world. Multitasking in the real world (browsing, video, music, documents, spreadsheets) took 3 to 4 hours. Do not lie. What. Is. Unacceptable. I've tried deleting apps and extensions to save battery life. Bluetooth is off and the brightness is kept at 60%. It does not help. For $200 more, you can get a Galaxy Chromebook that's better in every way. The only reason I bought the C436 and not the Galaxy Chromebook was for battery life, and it doesn't work. I can't have a single productive day at a coffee shop! 2. The Chromebook C436's brightness is admittedly mediocre. Chrome Unboxed rates this at 220 nits. C434 has over 300 nits. This C436 is unsuitable for use in the sun or even without a window. It is a measurable specification of the real world. It has bad brightness. When I'm sitting by the window in a café, I have maximum brightness. I knew this happened but it's still worth mentioning in the review if you didn't know.3. That's what's most frustrating for people like me who mind their own business. The body is made of magnesium alloy, which is very light. BUT! VERY easy to scratch. I haven't dropped the C436 yet and it's covered in scratches, all from being put in and out of a backpack. I take care of my stuff and it's so frustrating that no matter how well I take care of my expensive $800 laptop, it's covered in scratches. So if you're considering this laptop to get the best battery and performance from a premium laptop, it's not the ideal solution. I have owned this laptop for over 8 months. Also, the first one I bought had a broken trackpad. I will upgrade to C434 or Pixelbook Go because battery life is very important to me. Also, the main feature compared to the C434 was a fingerprint scanner, but for security reasons ChromeOS asks for a PIN or password 25% of the time anyway. So sometimes I sign in to unlock my device with my fingerprint but it says "PIN required for security". I'd rather not have a fingerprint reader than not using it 25% of the time.
