I have used it as a turntable stand and record storage. As other reviewers have noted, there is not enough room on the sloping center shelf to store 12" records upright. You can put a stack of these on top, but I don't want to store my records like that. However, I only removed the sloping shelf. , put a wire panel shelf on the bottom shelf and it works great. The stand is quite solid despite the lack of a shelf in the middle. The wood looks pretty decent for a laminate, especially as there is very little to see, the top shelf is entirely covered by the platter and the bottom shelf is mostly vinyl records.
