Review on Women'S Leather Anti-Theft Rucksack Backpack Purse Shoulder Bag Travel Daypack Large by Christie Cox

Not practical in my review

I like the look and feel of this bag. It's well made and it even comes with an optional shoulder strap for those who don't want to carry it as a backpack. I also liked the anti-theft feature - in theory. In reality, I found the zipper placement for the main compartment to be impractical. The product listing shows a picture of the bag standing upright, and considering the stiffness of the base, I'm assuming that's how it's meant to be when it's opened, and everything is pretty and neat and in its place. In reality, there is nothing preventing all that stuff from moving around in the main compartment, bumping against each other, and possibly being damaged. Furthermore, if you put a laptop in the bag, you have to angle it to put it in the top of the bag and then slide the bottom in. Again, not exactly practical when you need to get it back out and have other stuff in the bag with it. Finally, back to opening the bag while it's sitting upright on the base, that's all well and good except that when you unzip that flap and pull it down, there is nothing holding your stuff in the bag. So, if you have more than a couple of items in the bag, things are falling out. In the interest of fairness, I did try this bag, and I didn't make it past one day. I ended up having to lay it down to unzip so nothing spilled out, and with the way things move around in the main compartment, it was worse than just carrying a satchel type purse. At least with those, everything stays in the bag unless I pull it out. So, yes, this bag is well made and the leather is soft, but the design is lacking in my opinion.

Pros
  • Pack was a gift and it is loved by being used daily, when walking to and from work.
Cons
  • The bag's straps may not be strong enough to hold heavier items without breaking
