Review on Feline Pine Clumping Litter, 8 lbs: The Top Choice for Cats by Shannon Cool

Hardly any clumps, clumps soaked in urine fall apart when you scoop

This is not good. I was a fan of Original Feline Pine but now that I have kittens I wanted a natural cat litter that was gentle on paws. It has the same subtle smell as pine nuts and doesn't dust when I spread it around the box. One of the main problems with this pen: IT BAD COMPOSITION. The lump is barely formed, and as soon as you scoop it out, it immediately falls apart. So you end up dumping a lot of trash nearby because you don't want to shake the dustpan to save unused trash. If you shake the scoop, the lump will break up and fall through the scoop's screen. I think it's just pine dust with nothing to help it stick together into a ball. It leaves marks and I end up having to sweep them up, but the marks aren't as bad as some of the clay fillers I've used. Also, odor control isn't as good as the original Feline Pine, likely because the clumps keep falling apart when you try to scoop them out. Too bad it didn't work and is about 3 times more expensive by weight than the original cat jaw.
