I bought this box to use as a gift for a blanket I am making for my niece. I thought she could use the storage box in her dormitory. Unfortunately I've had it for several months now and I can't get rid of the smell it has. I've tried everything from airing it outdoors to using spray carpet deodorant. When it arrived it smelled like a stable. Now the smell isn't that strong but I'm hesitant to use it for its intended purpose. I'm afraid the Afghan will pick up the scent. I was very surprised because I already bought a smaller size from the same fabric and company and it's fine. In terms of structure and looks, this box is great. It's a durable and stylish look and I'd really like to use it for its intended purpose.
